 NAIL ART

Fashion Friday

Hey, dolls! I'm making up for "Fashion Friday".

So like I've mentioned in my last blog post, on Thursday's ("Thrifty Thursday's") I would show you guys in pictures and/or a video; the fashion & accessories I've found while out "Thrifting" (shopping at vintage/thrift shops). Next I would show & tell you how I would style and reconstruct them. Then on Friday's ("Fashion Friday's"), I would post my finished creations. But unfortunately, I was unable to go Thrifting this week. What I have for you today though, is a DIY I've done a little while ago that I call the "Baby Doll-Short Shorts".

Feeling Thrifty?!

Hey dolls, it's "Thrifty Thursday"!

Thrifty Thursday: Every Wednsday/Thursday I go out shopping at different vintage/thrift shops and find awesome-ly cute fashions & accessories. Then I bring them back to "The Dollhouse", photograph them for before shots, style and/or reconstruct them into really fun, girly, (Barbie-inspired) outfits, and then on "Fashion Friday's" I will share them with you! Because I ♥ fashion and I want to express my feminine style with people who share my same interest & taste! So stay "blogged in" to The Dollhouse Boutique. I hope you enjoy my creations! And feel free to post any comments, questions, or suggestions. It'll be mostly apprieciated.

Paper Dolls

I frequently enjoy designing, creating, and making my own paper dolls. They are adult women with different varieties of fashion and accessories, with different varieties of life styles and careers to match. In the process of my creations, I saw that there was a definate need for a different kind of trend that would give women the chance to interpret the "doll" world in all sorts of ways; through fashion, hair, makeup, beauty, art and lifestyle. Women need to explore the world around them -- and look good while doing so. Channel your inner Barbie doll, and you can be anything that you want to explore; your everyday lives, careers, and the great appeal of the adult "dress-up" world.

As a little girl (and well into my pre-teens), playing with Barbie dolls and drawing/painting encouraged me to actively use my imagination. Through Barbie, I projected myself into my own individual dreams of growing up, and I was able to express my interpretation of the world around me through fashion. As my interest changed, so did Barbie. The Barbie doll reflected the fashions and attitudes of the times, regardless of the era. Always in step with the current styles, her clothes had a quality and detail never seen before. Her tiny garments with miniture zippers, snaps, and buttons were yet another way Barbie mirrored a glamorous woman's world. Now she inspires me to mirror her through my art/fashion, and my lifestyle.

Barbie: According To Talisha

What A Real Life Barbie Should Look & Be Like

LEARN it..LIVE it..LOVE it!

-First, let's start with the HAIR. Yes, Barbie is usually known to be blonde but she can be brunette too, or have basically any other hair color (as long as it's natural looking). Long hair is generally the best way to go (you can get this look with extensions but try to go for as natural looking as possible). Though there are Barbies out there with medium lengthed hair, the longer the better. And tease it to make it look big!

-SKIN. Keep it clear! No matter how much foundation you slather on your face, bad skin is evident. Barbie never has zits. Ever. And now-a-days, Barbie can be African American, or any race for that matter!

-USE MASCARA. Look at Barbie's lashes; they're always long & stand out. Or you can go for the more dramatic look with false lashes. But keep Natural in mind in this case also.

-Lip liner is a must. It outlines lips in order to emphasize their shape and in addition, allows them to stand out & look fuller.

-Keep your eyebrows neat & perfectly shaped! Get them waxed, threaded, or whatever method works best for you. Just remember: Barbie's eyebrows are perfect. She does NOT have a unibrow.

-NAILS. Get them done dolls. Even though Barbie's nails appear to be unpainted, I'm sure that if she were full sized, they would be perfectly manicured. I'd go for acrylics, slightly square cut, and PINK!

-Barbie's TEETH are perfectly straight & white. If your teeth aren't perfectly straight, I guess that's okay :-) just make sure to brush & floss them at least twice a day and possibly purchase an at home whitening kit (the Zoom whitening system is believed to be the most efficient) or if you can, you can see a dentist to whiten those teeth professionaly.

-SORRY PLUS SIZE WOMEN but, Barbie is THIN! I  have nothing against a full figured person. I say be happy with whatever size you are, but Barbie never looks any bigger than a size 2, so to get that figure; follow a healthy diet plan, exercise, and drink plenty of water.

-Although Barbie is very thin, she has BREAST as well. If this body type does not belong to you, check out "Victoria's Secret" or "Frederick's of Hollywood". Both have beautiful bras that will make your boobs look great!

-DRESS like Barbie! Juicy is great. They have lots of pink, skirts, & tight sweats that Barbie would definitely wear. For shoes, go for Betsey Johnson heels. Not only are they feminine and beautiful, but they look as though they belong on a Barbie doll's feet. Also, check out www.tarinatarantino.com for Barbie themed jewelery. It's a bit pricey but some of the earrings and necklaces she designed, are meant to look like they came out of Barbie's closet.

-Barbie looks great but most importantly, she has a fantastic PERSONALITY too. You will never see Barbie bitching at somebody for no apparent reason, sleeping with any guy she encounters (such as her best friend's boyfriend), and swearing like a sailor. Barbie is perfect. And perfect to me means that you are beautiful not only on the outside but inside as well.

-And of course you have to have the fabulous CAREER & CASH! Barbie is NEVER broke nor does she rely on Ken to buy EVERYTHING. Barbie can be seen as a doctor, business woman, Super Model, etc. She is capable of anything she sets her mind to. Every guy wants her and every girl wants to be her.
